The Master of Training and Development (Singapore) is a professional development award in the training and development sector. It deepens candidates' knowledge and skills in the fields of adult, vocational and community education, training and professional development, draws on their existing vocational knowledge and builds their capacities for professional work in training, teaching, development and research related roles. It achieves this by providing a theoretical foundation that allows them to broaden and deepen their knowledge and skills in these fields.
Students are expected to complete their courses in part-time mode on a trimester basis (two courses per trimester) over two years.
Generally, the courses in the Master of Training and Development (Singapore) are delivered through blended delivery in off-campus mode with a combination of in-country, intensive two day learning per course in alternate trimesters followed by online learning. Students will be provided with web-based resources.
As per the agreement with the Institute for Adult Learning (IAL) Singapore to complete the program in two years, students will not be able to take a leave of absence.
The Master of Training and Development (Singapore) enables participants to develop a career in the broad field of training and development including professional education or training and development roles in private and public sector organisations. This program also equips students to pursue careers in mainstream adult and vocational education fields.
Students interested in research in the training and development discipline are directed to the Master of Education and Professional Studies Research (5608) or Doctor of Education (6022).
