Why choose this program?

This degree delivers advanced professional learning for teachers and those with a professional involvement in education, including school bursars, school development officers and training personnel. It will help you develop greater expertise in educational practice or research and can contribute to current teachers' professional development requirements.

You can choose to specialise in one of three majors:

  • Leadership, Policy and Social Transformation (Mt Gravatt and online)
  • Young Children, Early Childhood and Identity (Mt Gravatt and online)
  • Youth, Digital Culture and New Learning (Mt Gravatt and online)

If a major is not offered at the campus of your enrolment and you do not want to or cannot study online, you may travel between campuses to undertake your studies.

There is also a General Studies pathway available that will allow you the flexibility to create a personalised program according to your interests.

As a graduate, you will be able to apply knowledge and skills in a range of contexts for professional practice or scholarship. Please note that this degree is not an initial teacher education program and will not lead to registration as a teacher in Queensland schools.
