To be eligible for the Bachelor of Science (Honours) [BSc(Hons)], a student must acquire 80 credit points as prescribed below:

  • 60 credit points for the dissertation and
  • 10 credit points for 6108ENV Introduction to Research and
  • 10 credit points for 6106ENV Approved Topic or 10 credit points for Honours or Masters level courses (selected in consultation with supervisor and approved by the Honours Convenor.

Note: A student's choice of Honours dissertation will be determined by the field of science into which the project is deemed to fall by the Honours Convenor.

Courses (or components of courses) incorporating field studies or other mandatory components need to be satisfactorily completed to satisfy degree requirements even though overall performance would otherwise qualify the student to graduate.

Classification of Honours

This degree with Honours may be awarded in the following classes:

  • Class I Honours
  • Class IIA Honours
  • Class IIB Honours
  • Class III Honours

The class of Honours to be awarded to each student in this degree will be determined by the relevant Assessment Board on the basis of a Program GPA and a minimum percentage for the Dissertation as outlined in the Calculation of Honours Classification section of the Bachelor Honours Degree (AQF Level 8) Policy.
