This Honours program has been designed to enable students who have demonstrated substantial ability at an undergraduate level to develop advanced levels of studio practice, supporting theory and an advanced level of research understanding.
The program will allow students the flexibility to undertake Honours that best fits their area of study. The program offers the following research options:
The research project is supervised and accompanied by the Honours research paper that similarly provides two options (research essay or research report). The research project and research paper are combined to form the dissertation.
This program will be offered on-campus and in full-time or part time mode. Full-time students are expected to attend 12 hours of contact time per week. Students undertaking the industry project will be off-campus for approximately 400-450 hours undertaking industry based practice.
From 2017, to be classed as a full-time student, you are required to enrol in a minimum number of credit points each standard study period. The minimum credit points for full-time enrolment in this program is 30 credit points.
Trimester 1 and Trimester 2 are deemed standard study periods. As Trimester 3 is a non-standard study period, continuing students moving from one year to the next will not be required to study during this trimester to be eligible for student income support.
Domestic students who commence in Trimester 3 may be eligible for student income support from the onset of study provided they are enrolled full-time in this study period.

This degree program will equip creative students for both careers as professional artists, designers and e-photojournalists as well as research higher studies and will find employment in the South East Queensland area linking with the Queensland Government's Smart State initiatives - nationally and internationally.
These fees are only applicable to domestic students who are not Commonwealth supported including:

Eligible undergraduate fee-paying students may defer their tuition fees by taking out a FEE-HELP loan which is part of the Higher Education Loan Program (HELP). Payment of the loan is via the taxation system when income reaches a specified level.
