For the award of Bachelor of Paramedicine (BParamed), you must successfully complete 240 credit points as specified in the course list.

Placement requirements

You must successfully complete:

  • all medical and work related fitness tests (at your own expense) by the end of the first trimester in Year 1.
  • a recognised first aid certificate with CPR (at your own expense) by the end of the first trimester in Year 1:
    • CPR certificates that expire during the program do not have to be renewed as Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) are covered throughout the program in Years 1, 2 and 3. This training covers all nationally required CPR renewal requirements during the three years of First Aid Certification
    • First Aid Certificates that have expired prior to the commencement of teaching in the first semester of enrolment or expire within the first year of this program must be renewed by the end of the first trimester
  • all documentation required for clinical placement by the end of the first trimester in Year 1
  • professional experience, clinical experience/placement and other mandatory requirements:
    • courses or components of courses incorporating clinical experience or other mandatory components need to be satisfactorily completed to satisfy degree requirements even though the overall performance would otherwise qualify the student to graduate.

This degree may be awarded with Distinction where a student achieves a minimum program GPA of 6.5 with no failed courses. The words 'This award was achieved with Distinction' will be recorded on the testamur.

Designated courses for the purposes of exclusion

The courses listed below are designated for the purposes of the Academic Standing, Progression and Exclusion Policy. A student who fails a designated course will be subject to review by the Health Assessment Board and may be excluded from the program.
