Admission requirements

The admission criteria for the Bachelor of Business (offered in Hong Kong) are as follows:

  • Event Management major:
    • Students who have successfully completed an Associate Degree in Business or equivalent from a recognised education provider will be admitted with advanced standing of 120 credit points.
    • Students who have successfully completed a Higher Diploma in Business or equivalent including an introductory Event course from the School of Continuing and Professional Studies, Chinese University of Hong Kong or a comparable qualification from a recognised education provider will be admitted with advanced standing of 160 credit points.
  • Management major:
    • Students who have successfully completed an Associate Degree in Business or equivalent including an introductory Management course from a recognised education provider will be admitted with advanced standing of 120 credit points.
    • Students who have successfully completed a Higher Diploma in Business or equivalent including an introductory Management course from the School of Continuing and Professional Studies, Chinese University of Hong Kong or a comparable qualification from a recognised education provider will be admitted with advanced standing of 160 credit points.
  • Marketing major:
    • Students who have successfully completed an Associate Degree in Business or equivalent including an introductory Marketing course from a recognised education provider will be admitted with advanced standing of 120 credit points.
    • Students who have successfully completed a Higher Diploma in Business or equivalent including an introductory Marketing course from the School of Continuing and Professional Studies, Chinese University of Hong Kong or a comparable qualification from a recognised education provider will be admitted with advanced standing of 160 credit points.

Note: The Government of Hong Kong has granted Griffith an exemption from registration for this program. It is a matter of discretion for individual employers to recognise any qualification to which this program may lead.

Language requirements

English language requirements apply to International applicants and other applicants whose previous study was undertaken in a language other than English. The minimum English language requirements for such applicants for entry to these programs are described below.

Credit and recognition of prior learning

Griffith University awards credit for prior learning which may relate to prior formal learning or prior informal and non-formal learning. For more information see below.

This program has been withdrawn and will not be available to commencing (new) students after Trimester 2-2018.

Language requirements

English language requirements apply to International applicants and other applicants whose previous study was undertaken in a language other than English. The minimum English language requirements for such applicants for entry to this program are as follows:

  • A minimum overall band score of 6.5 on IELTS (Academic) with no sub-score of less than 6.0
  • OR a minimum score of 575 on TOEFL
  • OR an internet-based (iBT) TOEFL score of 79 (no sub-score less than 19)
  • OR no score less than 3+ in each skill of the ISLPR (conducted by ISLPR Language Services only)
  • OR a minimum grade of C on the Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE)
  • OR a minimum grade of C on the Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE)
  • OR an overall score of 58 in the Pearson Test of English (Academic) with no score less than 50.

English test results must be no more than two years old.

Students who successfully complete the Direct Entry Program (DEP) will satisfy the English Language requirements for this Griffith degree.

Note: Graduates from the School of Continuing and Professional Studies, Chinese University of Hong Kong who have completed their Associate Degree or Higher Diploma with a GPA of 2.4 or above (on a 4-point scale) are exempt from the above English language requirements.
