World Englishes (7992LHS)

This course investigates the spread of English as an international language. It covers its historical development and studies the dialectal features of varieties of Englishes, e.g., Indian English, Singaporean English, Chinese English, etc.. Students will examine some of the pedagogical implications of the rise of world Englishes. NOTE: This course will not be offered in 2018.
