Postgraduate Ensemble (7871QCM)

This course provides practical and theoretical experience in ensemble playing, developing skills such as sense of balance, sense of style, timing, tone colour, intonation, interpretation, etiquette and ethics. The course also provides for enlarging knowledge of the repertoire as a whole and insight into rehearsal and performance techniques. Postgraduate Ensemble students will be expected to play a major leadership role in all ensembles in which they participate, which may include chamber ensembles, Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra, Divertimenti, Conservatorium Chamber Orchestra, Opera Orchestra, Conservatorium Wind Orchestra, Brass Ensemble, Brass Band, Electro Acoustic Ensemble (using computers and electronic devices) and other ensembles of various sizes.
