Sport and Social Media (7334THS)

The course is designed to provide students with advanced understanding of promotion and communication strategies utilised in the sport business industry. This course will examine marketing activities employed by a) sport organisations to promote and communicate sport products and services and b) the use of sport as a communication platform to promote products and services by profit and not for profit organisations. The function of the course is intended to provide Sport Management graduate students with an in-depth understanding of sport promotion and communication through consumer behaviour, market research, branding, advertising, sponsorship, media relations, community relations and sales. It builds on this understanding by providing the hands-on practice necessary to becoming an effective sport marketer.
