This course will give students an understanding of the issues facing individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families at different stages across the lifespan. Students in this course will be provided with an overview of the needs and strategies for individuals with ASD as they move through life, including managing daily activities, multiple environments, and key junctures in early childhood, primary school, high school and post school. Students will investigate research on facilitating successful transitions for individuals with ASD, and on developing ways to more successfully self-manage the transitions between different settings. In addition, issues related to transitioning beyond school environments will be explored.
Education and Nursing Courses will be charged at the Student Contribution band 1 rate. Transitional arrangements apply.
