Globalisation and Corporate Social Responsibility (7112IBA)

This course explores various concepts associated with globalisation and its relationship with emerging Corporate Social Responsibility practices. While rejecting some of the more extreme ideas associated with globalisation (i.e. that the nation state no longer has any significance for business operations), the course explores the drivers for, impacts of, and contradictions of global competitiveness, changing international business practices and their relationship with the application of business ethics, corporate citizenship and stakeholder management concepts. In particular, the course looks at the ways in which the universalisation of various business practices are being shaped by heterogeneous global forces, considering different perspectives and exploring varied facets of global issues. Incompatible: 7415MGT OR 7416MGT OR 7425MGT (Globalisation and Corporate Social Responsibility, OR Globalisation and International Corporate Practice OR Corporate Citizenship OR Organisational Ethics); 7005GIR Globalisation and 6005GIR Globalisation AND 6005IBA Globalisation & the International Political Economy This course is normally offered at: Gold Coast DAY(even years), NIGHT(odd years), Nathan DAY.
