Strategic Sourcing (7105IBA)

This course provides a focus on the strategic importance of sourcing in achieving sustainable environmental, societal and economic outcomes for business. Sourcing is presented as a key to creating value through innovation, cost optimisation and asset utilisation and the contribution it makes to the organisation's competitive position. The focus of the course is mainly on areas identified as critical to establishing a business case in sourcing goods and services such as demand analysis and supply market analysis. Attention is also given to post-sourcing issues such as contract administration, buyer and supplier management and managing performance of contracts. Throughout the course attention is given to the strategic importance of sourcing as a means of achieving sustainable outcomes.
