This course introduces students to advanced knowledge and skills concerning research in the arts, humanities and social sciences. Students will acquire knowledge of key debates and controversies in social and cultural research, and develop an understanding of the rationale and motivation of different research traditions. Students will also become familiar with the relationship between ontology, epistemology and methodology, the importance of research ethics, the role of academic disciplines, and the role of research beyond academia.
