System Dynamics and Advanced Control (6524ENG)

This course introduces students to the theory, methods and practice for system modelling and advanced control. Mathematical modelling, systems analysis and advanced controller design are studied. Emphasis is placed on the design of PID controller, state feedback controller, optimal controller and state observer which are widely used in contemporary engineering systems. Practical experiments are designed to help students better understand the theory. Learning activities consist of lectures, tutorials and labs. Assessment is by quizzes, lab reports, and final examination.
