Refugee Law and Policy Clinic (5125LAW)

This course enables a small group of senior students to complete work for the Refugee and Immigration Legal Service (RAILS) as part of their academic studies. Students will be placed with RAILS and complete work at least one full day per week during Trimester - Mondays from week 3. In weeks 1 and 2 compulsory induction sessions will be held on Tuesdays. Students will be involved in a range of immigration related work under the supervision of RAILS solicitors and other staff or volunteers. NOTE: Information on application process is available at the LLB and JD Organisation sites on Learning@Griffith. There are limited places are available in this course. Prerequisite: Students must be in their final or penultimate year of their degree program to undertake this course and must have the attributes described under "assumed background" in the course profile.
