The Griffith Edn Internship (4999EDN)

The Griffith Education Internship is a 20 day, sustained, classroom teaching experience undertaken by fourth year BEd students in the final semester of the degree program. The Internship is the final and vital phase of the Bachelor of Education program and is a very rewarding experience for the teacher, their class and the pre-service teacher. Pre-service teachers will enter the Internship as Interns. As an Intern, the teacher education student takes increasing responsibility for planning, teaching and assessing student learning and will plan, implement and evaluate collaboratively with their mentor for six weeks of a school term. They will engage as teachers in all aspects of school life for a sustained period. Interns will develop and demonstrate the professional, ethical and values-based standards and competencies required of beginning teachers. It is a QCT requirement that all degree requirements must be satisfactorily completed prior to undertaking the Internship.
