This course incorporates the principles of work integrated learning through a major work placement with an industry partner. The course allows students to develop skills in both the academic and professional aspects of modern engineering applications and practice within an industry environment. It incorporates a significant work placement within a defined engineering project. This project is designed to demonstrate the application of engineering theory and practice. Students undertake the course with an industry partner who will provide supervision of the project within the industry environment. Academic support is provided within the university to assist the student to successfully demonstrate the way in which theory has been applied to engineering practice within the work placement project. Assessment is based on the demonstration of both academic and professional competencies developed as part of the major work placement project. STUDENTS MUST GAIN APPROVAL FROM COURSE CONVENOR TO ENROL IN THIS COURSE. This course is planned to be offered for the last time in 2015.
