The 21st century has witnessed a blending of music, sound, social media, and digital technologies; all in the context of a 'creative economy'. This course investigates the intersection of these themes and engages with ideas of musical meanings, personal and professional identities, technological futures, and cybernetic cultures. It explores the dynamic interactions between the arts, technologies and societies with an emphasis on how the student, as musician and consumer, successfully navigates their way through this evolving context. PREREQUISITES: none Suggested student background: Any student interested in music-related careers, or in music, technology and culture.
