Japanese for Professional Purposes (3533LHS)

This course is designed to develop skills necessary for understanding Japanese business culture, manners, customs and protocol with increased communicative command in Japanese. The ultimate goal for the course is to prepare students to work internationally or cross-culturally in a career related to Japan with confidence at home and overseas after graduation. The course focuses on speaking and listening skills and develops the usage of the honorific language (keigo) appropriate to workplaces in a Japanese environment. PREREQUISITE: 2042LHS/2042LAL Japanese 2B or 2045LHS/2045LAL Japanese 2B Enhanced or higher. Students can take the course independent from other Japanese courses.
