This course builds upon the skills and knowledge developed in 2361QCA Spatial Practices and 2360QCA 2 Dimensional Practices. (It is therefore strongly recommended that students enrol in this subject only after the successful completion of both 2361QCA and 2360QCA). Experimentation within an interdisciplinary context is encouraged. This subject introduces and familiarises the student to the historical and contemporary connections, approaches and investigations that bring together visual language and studio methodologies. Students will be encouraged to develop a range of studio skills and research methods that address individual conceptual, formal and aesthetic concerns in relation to contemporary issues in the visual arts in order to develop one cohesive body of work. Progress will be addressed in Week 7 and final results will be determined in critiques which will occur in Week 14. Seminars and tutorials are designed to address professional, cultural and contemporary issues in the visual arts.
