Communication Systems and Circuits (3324ENG)

This course explores the common modulation techniques including amplitude and angle modulation for both analogue and digital information signals. Applications examined include radio, television and telecommunications. The course looks at both system level and circuit level. Many examples are examined for circuits for mixers, modulators, demodulators, oscillators, frequency synthesisers, RF amplifiers and radio and television receivers and transmitters. Design of amplification stages utilising classes A, B, C and D are examined. Methods and importance of shielding at high frequencies is also covered.
