Event Evaluation (3204THS)

The adaptability and ultimate survival of any organisation depends on the ability of its management to make informed decisions based on valid research. To this end, it is essential that modern managers have a sound appreciation of the nature and role of research and the application of research methods, as well as an ability to critically evaluate research outputs. This course, which is the capstone course for the Event Major, will give students the opportunity to revisit the content of the other event major courses by undertaking a research project to evaluate some aspect of the impact of events. The course will also allow students to draw on the skills acquired in 2230THS Interpreting Tourism Management Information (or equivalent) to provide them with experience in applying practical research skills as are commonly used in the events industry. This course is offered: Gold Coast: Trimester 2 Day Nathan: Trimester 2 Day Incompatible: 2301HSL Evaluation and Impact Assessment, AND 3204HSL/3004THM (Tourism and Hospitality Research Methods), AND 3204HSL Event Evaluation.
