Italy through Food (3190LHS)

This course examines ways in which food shapes contemporary Italian society and its cultural practices. It further develops students' proficiency in Italian and expands their understanding of contemporary Italian society and culture through the analysis of a selection of texts from the perspective of the role(s) food can play. These include: newspaper and magazine articles, literary texts, films and TV programmes. The assessment consists of an oral presentation, a take home exam and online tasks. NOTE: Course not offered from 2018.
