In this interdisciplinary course students will explore the realities of aging and dying through a range of perspectives drawn from literature, philosophy and film. Topics of discussion include: Western perceptions of aging and dying; the medicalization of illness and the body; patient autonomy; the challenges and incapacities of aging; facing end of life.
