This course aims to help students to consolidate and develop further their knowledge of Spanish language and the Hispanic world, by involving them in the analysis, production and broadcasting of news. Students will consolidate their grammatical, structural and lexical knowledge of Spanish, in written and spoken contexts, and further develop their understanding of the contemporary Hispanic world through current media. The course will involve students in meaningful research-based learning tasks, some of them working with native speakers to help them to become independent and confident users of Spanish. This course has adopted Common European Framework of Reference for Languages standards in its teaching to help students to progress towards becoming independent users of Spanish (B1). The course will help students to improve their Spanish language skills in a collaborative and communicative language learning environment, and to develop further as reflective autonomous language learners. NOTE: This course is not offered from 2018.
