Spanish for Professional Purposes (3083LHS)

This course will focus on the development and use of Spanish for professional purposes, by involving learners in a job searching simulation to increase their knowledge of the Hispanic job market, as well as their ability to use Spanish in professional contexts in a meaningful way. It has adopted the Common European Framework (CEF) of Reference for Languages standards in its teaching to help students to progress towards becoming B2 Spanish independent users. The course will help students to improve their Spanish language skills, and knowledge of Spanish language and Hispanic cultures, in a collaborative, communicative, and content-based second language learning environment. In addition, it will help them to develop further as reflective autonomous Spanish users. NOTE: This course will be offered only if a minimum enrollment number is reached. Prerequisites: 2081LHS / 2081LAL Spanish 2B or 2083LHS / 2083LAL Spanish 2B (Enhanced), or any Griffith University advanced Spanish third year course, or a placement interview with the coordinator of the Spanish Studies Major or the convenor of this course.
