Dilemmas in International Relations (3011GIR)

The twenty-first century is more than a decade old. Whilst it is in its early stages, it is natural to want to know how it compares with the last century and how it will look in the future. How will relations between states and other entities change? What forces are likely to emerge? Where will the world's most serious troubles occur? This course explores these questions by examining a series of case studies that illustrate the political challenges of the new century. Cases such as continuing terrorism, the direction of China, and global warming are used to represent real-world problems confronting the international system. This course is offered: Gold Coast: Trimester 1 Day Nathan: Trimester 1 Day Incompatible: 2025IBA Dilemmas in International Relations.
