Cruise Industry Experience (3008THS)

Students will gain personal understanding of the production and consumption of the rapidly growing contemporary international cruise product through participation in a 10-day South Pacific cruise. Through lectures, seminars and other experiences provided during the cruise, 'real time' exposure and insight will be gained into industry structure and trends, supply chains, ship operations, revenue generation strategies, market segmentation, marketing, the passenger experience at sea and on land, and risk management. The economic, environmental and sociocultural sustainability of the industry will also be assessed from diverse stakeholder perspectives. This course has restricted entry with convener approval required.
