Biomolecular Innovation (3006NSC)

Advances in the biomolecular sciences lead to tomorrow's innovations in fields ranging from medicine and health care to food, agriculture, environmental protection and the biotechnology industries. This course explores recent innovations and technologies emerging from the advances in the biomolecular sciences and demonstrates how these advances in the biomolecular sciences are applied across a wide range of areas from the biomedical sciences to the biotechnology industries. Topics will include manipulation of expression of gene products in bacteria, yeast, plant, and higher mammals, protein engineering, vaccines, gene and nucleic acid therapies, cell therapies, and proteomics.
