Industry Project (3002GBS)

The purpose of this course is to provide students with suitable work experience in their chosen field, and the opportunity to work on a task specific, or, special project related internship. Such special projects may be individual or team-based. Outcomes of the internship may include networking opportunities and industry mentoring. Students will also gain knowledge and experience in their chosen field, to enable enhanced graduate employability and career success. The tasks, or special project, undertaken with an industry partner will be arranged either by Griffith Business School, or the student, and or, student team. Any proposal not facilitated by Griffith Business School, but by the students, must be approved by either the WIL Director or Course Convenor. Students must consult with the WIL Director or Course Convenor in the first instance. The primary purpose of these work integrated learning opportunities is to facilitate student learning that is aligned to an authentic workplace experience, and to raise student awareness of such matters; i.e. workplace learning, employability, career pathway development and self-management. Prerequisites: Enrolment is restricted to students who have completed a minimum of 80 Credit Points towards their degree program and have high levels of professional communication.
