Doc. 1: Contemporary Photojournalism (2808QCA)

Photojournalists, in the role of informers (and sometimes collaborators) shape our understanding and relation to world events. This course explores theories of representation and culture and the ethical challenges that confront the contemporary photojournalist through practice-led investigations. It is expected that students enrolled in this course will be completing a Bachelor of Photography or Bachelor of Photography/Bachelor of Business double degree, or Bachelor of Journalism/Communications, with the intent of majoring or specialising in Documentary Photography. Prior to commencing this course students will have completed and successfully passed 1322QCA Studio Foundations 1 and 1323QCA Studio Foundations 2 and either 1704QCA Still and Moving Image or 2651QCA Digital Photography. Students must contact course convenor to approve enrolment in course outside of these prerequisites.
