Web Audio (2720QCM)

This course focuses on music and sound on the internet. This includes the development of audio suitable for delivery over the internet, the use of the internet as a collaborative music creation platform, and as a site for real-time music performance. The course engages with a range of web audio technologies including audio compression codecs, streaming audio protocols, html audio APIs, and internet protocols such as open sound control. Practical tasks include the creation of web-based audio productions, web-based music collaborations and live networked performance. This course is delivered through tutorials and seminars. PRE-REQUISITES: Interactive Music (1710QCM), or Stereo Recording and Editing (2713QCM), or by approval from Bachelor of Music Technology program convenor.
