This course covers the field of immersive environments as applied for use in visualization (architectural, 3D, health), reconstruction (archaeology, criminology) and learning (gameplay, education). The application of computer game systems, to create immersive experiences is explored with students gaining knowledge in the theory of immersive design, its history, human physiology and the science behind the technologies that make immersive systems work. Students will develop both skills and a deeper understanding, in the creative design and practical development of strong immersive experiences with digital visualization tools (eg. game engines, VR and AR).
