Kinematics and Dynamics (2517ENG)

Kinematics & Dynamics equips graduates with a solid understanding of the key concepts of mechanics required for design and analysis of mechanisms and mechanical devices. Topics covered include kinematics and dynamics of mechanical components modelled as particles and plane rigid bodies, interconnected objects, rotational dynamics, work and energy methods, translating and rotating coordinate systems, vector methods, three-dimensional dynamics of rigid bodies and an introduction to vibration Please check the "assumed knowledge" for this course under the course profile to ensure you meet the pre-requisites required for enrolment. This course is planned to be offered for the first time in 2018, trimester 1 and replaces 3317ENG.
