Investigative Journalism (2507LHS)

This course exposes students to the real-world challenges and constraints of journalistic research. It confronts them with the difficult and complex decisions required in the professional environment. It also gives them the opportunity to work through practical problems. This course allows students to develop a systematic approach to information gathering that reflects their own style and interests. They must meet tight deadlines, confront ethical uncertainties and work across a range of fields. At the same time they must reflect on the role of their profession within a wider society. Prerequisites: 2511LHS or 2511HUM News Writing & Ethics; OUA CJR220 News and Information Gathering Co-requisites: NIL Incompatible: NIL
