This course begins with an analysis of market failures associated with climate change and the sustainability problem more generally. This leads to an outline of the relative merits of alternative strategies for correcting such market failures, including various emissions reduction options employed or proposed for adoption in a range of countries. These strategies have economic implications, regulatory implications for financial reports by organisations, as well as implications for financial markets and investment options, each of which are explored in some detail.
