Risk Management and Insurance (2282AFE)

The primary aim of this course is to skill students in the key aspects of risk management as it relates to personal, financial advisory and small / medium size business applications. To achieve this aim, the coursework incorporates core knowledge and practical application. Specifically the modules consider the nature of the insurance sector, leveraged investments, derivatives, RG146 licensing requirements and the intense demands from ASIC to ensure financial strategies are client-focused and adequate risk management has been prioritised. A substantial part of this course concentrates on product knowledge and designing recommendations to meet client needs and objectives. Prerequisite: 2201AFE, 2281AFE OR 1382AFE, 1302AFE (Corporate Finance OR Money, Banking and Finance) Inompatible: 2202AFE (Risk Management Insurance) This course is offered in Trimester 2. Day in even years and Night in odd years, In Accelerated mode.
