Economic Ideas and Political Institutions (2009GIR)

Since the rise of the modern world economy, states have sought to harness markets, to prolong "booms" and contain "busts". This course traces these efforts, as economic ideas and institutions have evolved from the Gold Standard to Global Financial Crisis. This course is offered: Gold Coast: Trimester 1 (odd years); Nathan : Trimester 1 (even years). This course may not be offered after 2018.
