Software Development Processes (1810ICT)

This course introduces students to a number of key elements in software development processes including scripting languages, software project management and the design processes for data schemas and user interfaces. These processes are presented in the context of the relevant background theories of each area, and applied by students to a range of relevant tasks. Software project management processes provide systematic approaches to measuring and managing software development tasks. Similarly User interface design processes ensure effective, and usable interfaces. Likewise entity relationship modelling permits efficient and data storage that is accessible and manageable. The concepts taught will be practiced through the creation of databases and user interfaces along with the use of scripting languages, DBMSs and SQL. Pre-requisite: 1806ICT Programming Fundamentals. For students in the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)/Bachelor of Computer Science: 1305ENG Engineering Programming is the listed pre-requisite. Incompatible: 2810ICT Software Technologies
