Then and Now (1601QCA)

This is an introductory, first year undergraduate level course focussed on the essential relationships between art and design theory and practice. Significant developments within each discipline of the Bachelor of Digital Media (Majors: Studio Art; 3D Design; Graphic Design; Photo Media; Digital Design; Fashion Design; Interior Design; Creative Entrepreneurship) will inform the content of lectures. Iconic works of art and design from the early 20th Century are analysed alongside contemporary work to establish an understanding of continuity and change within art and design as disciplines. Exemplary works are framed to reflect key themes influencing art and design theory and culture today.
