This course introduces students to a wide range of studio practices in visual art. Students will have the opportunity to explore materials, techniques, processes and visual language of a variety of art forms. Areas of studio practice will include; 2-dimensional media: collage, drawing, painting, printmaking, photographic art; 3-dimensional media: ceramics, installation, sculpture; Time-based media: electronic imagining, animation. The course focuses on the development of practical responses to thematic and conceptual tasks that are designed to provide a focus for creative investigation and form a foundation for subsequent studio and visual art curriculum courses.
Education and Nursing Courses will be charged at the Student Contribution band 1 rate. Transitional arrangements apply.
