Engineering Practice and Sustainability (1001ENG)

This course introduces students to the engineering profession and engineering design. Students will work in engineering teams on practical tasks directly related to their engineering disciplines, learning both practical skills and generic skills such as ethics, communication, and teamwork. The projects will be supported by a lectures series which will cover topics such as study skills, design fundamentals, research and communication, and some technical content as required. The course is intended to equip students with the generic skills of the Griffith Graduate and professional responsibility to others that should be integral to their University studies and later professional practice. Incompatible: 1115EVE Introduction to Engineering and Sustainability AND 1010MEE Generic Skills for Microelectronic engineers AND 1015ENG Design and Drafting AND 1051ENG Issues of Modern Technology. This course is planned to be offered for the last time in 2016. Please consult your program director for a suitable alternative. This course will be replaced by 1701ENG Creative Engineering from 2017.
